Tip #1: A Pop of Collar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you feel like your favorite pullover sweaters need a touch of polish, the perfect way to do that is with a collar. Go for a crew-neck sweater and button your shirt up to the very top for a super polished and preppy look. If you aren\u2019t comfortable wearing your shirt buttoned all the way to the top, unbutton a button or two and opt for a V-neck or scoop-neck sweater instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bonus<\/em>: If your collared shirt is in a playful print or a bold color, this is the perfect way to give your outfits a bit of pop!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip #2: Invest in Your Vest<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vests are a fantastic layering option, and work well with every style and every wardrobe. If you have a vest that you love, place it in a visible and reachable place in your closet to get the most use out of it. A great way to style any vest is to layer it over a fitted long-sleeve tee or turtleneck. But don\u2019t be afraid to layer your vest over a less fitted top like a flowy blouse. Tip #3: Belt It Out<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s face it, winter layers are bulky. If you\u2019re looking for a way to show off your shape, adding a belt at the waist over a longline sweater or cardigan defines your waistline even in cozy layers. Whether you\u2019re layering your cardigan over a dress or denim, belting your look will make your outfit look thoughtful and celebrate your curves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip #4: Knotty Looks Nice<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the same way that a belt can add definition and play with proportion, so too can your shirt when knotted. A pair of high-waisted jeans or a statement belt can get a little more attention when a shirt is tied up, and so does your waistline. Not to mention, this is a great way to dip your toe in the crop top trend without having to purchase anything at all. Tie your shirt right at your waistline to celebrate your curves, or tie it a bit lower for extra coverage. Small details like knotting and cuffing makes your outfit look thoughtful and deliberate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tip #6: Shawl We?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rocking a cape, poncho, or shawl over a neutral long-sleeve top is the perfect way to add warmth and personality without having to commit to a heavy top layer. Because capes, ponchos, and shawls are so easy to throw on or take off, you can keep it handy at your desk at work or bring it with you to a chilly grocery store or movie theater. If you don\u2019t have a cape, poncho, or shawl that you want to wear this winter, you can get the same effect with a blanket scarf<\/a>. A cape in a playful print is the perfect way to add a little pizzazz to an otherwise humdrum winter outfit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
