Not-So-Mellow Yellow
One of the many colors that painted the runway last September was the perfect-for-spring yellow. And after months of cold weather and grey skies, that’s just the boost our closets—and our spirits—need.
How to get the look:
With so many shades of yellow around, you can trust that the perfect one for you is out there. Keep your outfit more subdued with mustard yellow or go bright with canary yellow.
Little Prints
Spring calls for bold prints and the breeziest of silhouettes, so it should come as no surprise that scarf prints came out in full force on the runway. From styles inspired by vintage Versace to airy fabrics with the most delicate of prints, the trend showed up in a variety of ways as part of new designer collections.

Hunt for luxurious fabrics, dynamic all-over prints, and scarf-inspired tie details.
Do the Polka
Delightfully warm weather, outdoor fun, and fresh blooms all add up to one thing—springtime is the perfect time to be playful. That’s why polka dots were the print of choice for so many spring collections. When the pattern’s in classic black and white, you can take it everywhere from the office to date night.
How to get the look:
Go for all-over spots or mix it with other colors or patterns. To make even more of a statement, opt for a larger print.
In the Red
Spring is the season to refresh and renew—and no color is more lively than red. The spring runway saw every shade of red, both on their own and mixed in with other hues. Whether the style feels more va-va-voom or everyday casual, expect to see this timeless color everywhere.
How to get the look:
Take center stage in head-to-toe red or weave it in through separates. Since red’s a primary color, it easily plays well with others.
See the Light
If primary colors aren’t your thing, no worries! Pastels are also having a comeback. This color palette is soft, fresh, and a welcome change from the muted tones of winter. So, naturally, pastels were a fixture of the Fashion Week runways for spring.
How to get the look:
Mix and match pastel separates for easy pairing. If the pastel-on-pastel look is too much for you, instead find pieces with light hues in the background and fun patterns in the foreground.
