It seems as if I’m wearing summer clothing all year round. You can even check out my Instagram and see so many summery styles. Because I live in South Florida’s Palm Beaches, it is warm year-round and it leaves me feeling left out when I scroll through the feeds of fashion bloggers, which are filled with scarves and changing leaves. While the rest of the nation is layering up to stay warm and getting their #CozyConfidence on, I can still comfortably wear flip-flops and tank tops. I’m not complaining about the warm weather because I would never trade the sun for snow, but I want to participate in fall fashion without feeling like I’m going to overheat.

If you, like me, live somewhere that feels like eternal summer, check out my tips for bringing fall fashion into my seemingly seasonless wardrobe.

Tip #1: Warm Hues

I favor darker, warmer colors because it helps you channel the essence of fall fashion no matter what the temperature is. Whether it’s mustard yellow, burgundy, orange, tan, or neutrals like grey and brown, an autumn color palette will help you look like you’re dressed seasonally, even though it still feels like summer.

Tip #2: Light Layers

Get thoughtful about your fabric choice and silhouette to help you feel cozy but not too warm. It’s all about incorporating those saturated colors with lightweight layers for a look that won’t make you feel as though you’re melting in the heat. A flowy kimono in an autumn shade layered over a tank and paired with skinny jeans strikes the perfect balance. Give it an extra fall feel with booties. Too hot for booties? Choose a chunky wedge with cutouts in a dark brown hue.

Tip #3: All About Accessories

Swap out your straw tote bag for a faux leather purse. Opt for a lightweight scarf in a fall color palette. Mix up your jewelry and go for warmer metallics like rose gold. Accessories can quickly dress up an outfit and can give it a richer, more autumnal feel. Elevating your outfit with thoughtful accessories is what #CozyConfidence is all about—taking that extra moment to give even the comfiest outfit a special touch.

No matter where you live, even if it’s somewhere always warm like me, you can participate in #CozyConfidence. Try rocking a lightweight scarf, a thin sweater, and your favorite leggings for an outfit that’s the ultimate comfy-cozy look even in a warm climate. Make sure that when you’re running errands this holiday season, and juggling everything from cooking to parenting to hosting, that you’re putting a little extra love into your outfit. You deserve it! When you take those cute family photos over the holidays, be sure to post on Instagram with hashtag #CozyConfidence so you’re entered to win a box of winter essentials. Good luck!
